Ferrari SF90 XX: 1,030 HP Hybrid Street Weapon

The first road-legal XX program vehicle from Maranello tested across the tight apexes of the Circuit de Monaco. How fixed downforce and front electric torque vectoring redefine street circuit agility.

Engineering Overview: Road-Legal XX Philosophy

The SF90 XX Stradale represents a seismic shift for Ferrari’s Corse Clienti department. Historically restricted to track-only usage, the XX designation now enters public roads with 1,030 cv of hybrid firepower generated by an enhanced 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 paired with three axial-flux electric motors.

On the streets of Monaco, where traditional supercars struggle with understeer through tight hairpin radii, the SF90 XX utilizes its dual front electric motors for instantaneous RAC-e (electronic cornering governor) torque-vectoring, literally pulling the nose into Fairmont Hairpin with zero steering push.

Aerodynamic Dynamics: Fixed Wing & Shut-off Gurney

Unlike the active rear spoiler of the standard SF90 Stradale, the XX model features a permanent, fixed carbon-fiber rear wing—the first road-going Ferrari to feature one since the iconic F50 in 1995.

Working in synergy with an active patented shut-off Gurney flap, the system alternates between Low Drag (LD) configuration through the Monaco Tunnel and High Downforce (HD) configuration under braking for Sainte Dévote, generating massive vertical stability over bumps.
